Own choice of three selections
Performance will be judged on discrimination of selection which should be from standard concert or suitable instrument-specific literature, on group arrangement, contrast, appropriateness, keys, technique, interpretation, and stage presence.
- More than one percussion instrument may be used, i.e. tympani in one piece, marimba in another. All works must be bona fide percussion compositions.
- Concert pieces mostly consist of rhythmic challenges with the use of dynamics and colour contrasts. (ex. using brushes, mallets or snare-off or using rims and stick shots.)
- Rudiment pieces mostly consist of rudiments and rhythmic challenges with different types of rolls, diddles, flam, and drag rudiments.
- Performance from memory is encouraged but not mandatory for percussion concert group classes.
- Selections must be performed as a set, one following the other without interruption. This applies to all concert group classes
- Penalty for abuse of time limit
- Competitors must not perform any selection entered in any other class in the current festival
- Selections and performance time should be specified at registration

Own choice of two contrasting selections.
This class is for percussionists who would like to receive written adjudication on their performance but cannot attend in person. Instrumentalists will submit a recorded performance through the Ciniki platform. Marks will not be awarded and this class is not eligible for awards.
