Class Registration - Piano
Concert Group
Own choice of three selections.
Performance will be judged on discrimination of selection which should be from standard concert or suitable instrument-specific literature, on group arrangement, contrast, appropriateness, keys, technique, interpretation, and stage presence.
- Performance from memory is mandatory
- Selections must be performed as a set, one following the other without interruption
- Penalty for abuse of time limit
- Competitors must not perform any selection entered in any other class in the current festival
- Selections and performance time should be specified at registration

Concerto
Own choice of one movement from a piano concerto.
- The orchestral reduction is to be played on a second piano and may be performed by a professional musician if desired
- Only the piano solo part will be adjudicated (not the orchestral reduction)
- Selection and performance time should be specified at registration
Complete Major Work
Own selection of a complete major work for solo piano.
- Must be a work of more than one movement (e.g. complete sonata, suite, or similar large-scale work)
- Competitors must not perform any part of their selection in any other class in the current festival
- Selections and performance time should be specified at registration
Piano Duet
Own choice of one piano duet selection.
- Participants must supply original music for the adjudicator
- Selection and performance time should be specified at registration
Piano Trio
Own choice of one selection
One piano - Six hands
Time Limit: 15 Minutes
- Participants must supply original music for the adjudicator

Canadian Composition
Own choice of one selection by a Canadian composer.
- The selection must be in classical style, not a folk or pop song unless specifically arranged for piano solo
- Must supply original music to the adjudicator
